A moving head wash gives you colour that covers people rather than a hard beam that picks them out. The Fusion 260ZR MKII carries 19 quad-colour LEDs behind a 6 to 50 degree motorised zoom, so the same fixture works on a low village hall bar or across a school hall from the back. Pan, tilt, zoom and colour all sit on DMX. It hires at £20 per day, dry or with a technician.
The Equinox Fusion 260ZR MKII is an LED moving head wash built around 19 quad-colour RGBW emitters, set in three concentric rings behind a motorised zoom running from a tight 6 degrees out to a 50 degree flood. That range is what makes it useful in real rooms. Pull the zoom in for a narrow shaft of colour across a stage, or open it wide to cover a dance floor from a low bar without hard edges.
Colour mixing runs from soft pastels to deep saturates. Dimming is 0 to 100 per cent with four selectable curves, and the head gives 540 degrees of pan and 270 degrees of tilt on 16-bit positioning.
Four DMX modes suit most desks: 2, 8, 17 or 25 channels. Eight channels covers pan, tilt, zoom, master dimmer and RGBW, which is plenty for a school or community rig. Twenty-five channels opens the three LED rings separately for chases and pattern effects. Auto, sound-active and master/slave modes are there when no desk is available.
DMX is 3-pin XLR in and out, mains is PowerTwist in and out, and up to six fixtures can be power linked from one run at 240V. Each head draws 290W and weighs 9.7kg, so it rigs on a standard bar with a clamp and a safety bond. Fans are temperature controlled and reasonably quiet for the output, though this is still a fan-cooled moving head, so think about placement over quiet dialogue. Indoor use only.

It is a wash. The output is soft-edged colour that covers people and scenery rather than a sharp beam, and there is no gobo wheel. If you want patterns, breakups or a hard edge, pair these with a moving head spot or a profile and let the washes do the colour.
Most likely. The 8-channel mode gives you pan, tilt, zoom, dimmer and RGBW on eight faders, which almost any desk can patch. There is also a 2-channel mode with built-in show programmes and a sound-active setting if you have no DMX control at all. Tell us what desk you have and we will say honestly whether it will cope.
Each fixture draws 290W. Up to six can be power linked from a single run at 240V, counting the first one, but the circuit at your venue is the real limit. School halls and village halls vary a lot. Send us the number of fixtures you are planning and we will help you work out the runs.
Each head weighs 9.7kg, so one person can rig it, but the bar has to take the load and the fixture needs a clamp and a safety bond. Check the rated capacity of your bar before you plan positions. These are indoor fixtures only, with no weather rating, so they cannot go outside.
