Confetti cannon hire — Chauvet DJ Funfetti Shot

For the last eight bars. A confetti launcher that fires from the lighting desk, so the moment lands exactly where the music says it should rather than a beat late.

There is a particular sound an audience makes when confetti goes up at the right moment, and it is worth the hire on its own.

The launcher is triggered from the lighting desk, which matters more than it sounds. Confetti fired by hand is always slightly late, because whoever is holding it is watching the stage rather than counting. On a cue, it goes on the beat.

It covers a stage-width area from a single position, and it can be reloaded between performances. We supply the confetti, and we will ask what colours you want and whether the venue has a preference — some halls ask for a particular type because of what it does to the floor.

Worth asking early: check with the venue about clean-up. Most are fine about it; a few are not, and it is better to know in the planning meeting than on the day.

What you get

The launcher with its mains lead
Desk control so it fires on a cue
Confetti for the performances — tell us how many and what colour
Rigging or a stand, depending on where it is going
A technician to rig and fire it, if you would rather not

Good for

Finales and curtain calls
Show-stopper numbers in a musical
Pantomime endings
Awards evenings, for the winner
Proms and leavers events
Anything that ends with everyone on stage

What you need to know

Firing it
From the lighting desk, on a cue. Far better than someone in the wings trying to judge the moment.
Coverage
Roughly a stage-width burst from one position. For a wider stage, two work better than one.
Confetti
Supplied. Say how many performances and which colours, and we will send enough with spares.
Clean-up
Ask the venue first. Most are relaxed about it, some are not, and it is much easier to find out in advance.
Power
One ordinary 13A socket.

Alternatives

Handheld confetti cannons — single-shot tubes fired by hand — no desk, no cabling, and the cast can fire them on stage.
